Dhara on Head Or Shirodhara or Third eye Massage

First of all it is better to know what exactly is Shirodhara or a third eye massage

Shir=Head and Dhara = stream or flow So by its name it gives explaination that it is pouring of oil on head through a pot hanging on head is called as shirodhara,Or
 You can say it is a form of Ayurved medicine that involves gently pouring liquids over the forehead (the 'third eye)

It is hence a very important external medicine which can cure serious eye and mental diseases, disorders related to mind,

Shirodhara is capable of curing variety of conditions including eye diseases sinus, allergies, greying of hair, neurological disorders, memory loss, insomanis hearing impairment, tinnitus, vertigo, Ménière's disease and certain types of skin diseases like psoriasis. 

There are specialized forms of shirodhara called tailadhara,ksheeradhara and thakradhara.

In which taildhara is mostly used and by properties of oils one gets lots of health benifits  Thakardhara is used with buttermilk and if its very hot then you must use it because it keeps the body cool with all its properties,Similarly when done with cold milk its is known as ksheerdhara

Now why is it called third eye massage?

Third eye is related to our God Shiva destructor and reproductor who is represented in various forms..Shivas third eye is so powerful that according to sacred books if he in in anger and opens third eye ,every thing may destruct from the fire coming out of his third eye,So in this particular massage the oil falls directly on forehead where shive has his third eye so this is called as third eye massage!!
